Stipendien der Graduiertenschule für die Künste und die Wissenschaften
The Graduate School for the Arts and Sciences at Berlin University of the Arts is a postgradual, transdisciplinary and international program. It is geared toward highly qualified graduates from all artistic and academic disciplines.
The Graduate School facilitates transdisciplinary exchange between the Graduate School’s fellows and offers mentoring by Professors of fine arts, architecture, media, design, music and performing arts. The Graduate School provides individually designed curricula and the opportunity to teach at Berlin University of the Arts. The Graduate School is funded by Einstein Foundation Berlin.
Funding is granted for two years. Graduates from all academic and artistic disciplines can apply, pre-requisite is a university degree to the equivalent of a MA or MFA (a BA alone is not sufficient). Applications may be written in German or English. Working language of the Graduate School is German. The base amount of fellowships is 1,365 € plus general expenses. Additional family allowance is granted if applicable. Expected beginning of fellowships: October 2012.
Prospective fellows propose an art, design or academic project which is firmly rooted in one discipline but requires or addresses the co-operation with other disciplines. After successful completion of the program fellows are awarded the certificate of the Graduate School for the Arts and Sciences.
Your application contains the following in triplicate (in addition, we ask you to send each document as a pdf to graduiertenschule@udk-berlin.de):
• Application form, see www.udk-berlin.de/graduiertenschule
• Short project proposal (text and/or image, 1 page)
• Short artistic or academic CV (1 page)
• Agreement with a university professor (from within or outside Berlin University of the Arts) and/or with
someone working in the fields of art, music, performance, design or academia, to function as supervisor
• Timeline and budget (1 page each)
• Copy of university diploma
• Detailed project proposal (length up to one’s own discretion)

Fellowships are subject to the grant of external funding. For financial reasons we do not return application materials but you may pick them up personally.
