Artists' Programme

The intention of the women artists programme is to provide cross-genre support but funding is mainly being aimed at areas where women have been underrepresented in the past.
There are many associations dedicated to providing support for women artists and to presenting and/or publishing their art works in Berlin: The Inselgalerie (Xanthippe e.V.) offers women artists of whatever artistic style the opportunity to exhibit their work. European Women’s Action (Europäische Frauenaktion) promotes and presents the artistic creative work of women artists. All information on this can be found at: www.efakultur.de/

There is the Inselgalerie (www.inselgalerie-berlin.de ) and Das Verborgene Museum (www.dasverborgenemuseum.de ). Both galleries mainly or exclusively exhibit works by women artists.
There is a professional development programme called “Goldrush Women Artists Project art IT”, that provides information targeted towards specific professions. The Berlin programme for the promotion of equal opportunities for women in research and teaching aims at creating equal opportunities for women academics and artists in Berlin. The University for the Arts operates a mentor programme for academics and artists active in the areas of visual art, music, design and performing arts. All information on the programme and its selection process can be found at: www.mentoring.udk-berlin.de
The Federal Ministry for Families, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth awards the Gabriele Münter Prize, a renowned arts prize for women artists over 40. Information on the participating conditions is available at: www.bmfsfj.de . The arts academy (Akademie der Künste) awards the 25,000 Euro Joana-Maria- Gorvin Prize.
