Further Education
There are no scholarships/grants given for studying pop music. However, there are scholarships available for both serious music (E-Musik) and jazz. For more information: http://www.berlin.de/sen/kultur/foerderung/informationen/maininfo.html
We stopped accrediting degrees from foreign universities 1 Febuary 2003. Certain exceptions are made in accordance with §10 in the Bundesvertriebenengesetz. The database ANABIN (www.anabin.de ) contains information about the comparability of foreign educational degrees to the German education system. It is based on information from the Central Office for Foreign Education Systems in the Standing Committee of the German Ministers of Culture (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen im Sekretariat der Kultusministerkonferenz). With regards to music, a comparison of foreign degrees is made to the German education for State approved music teachers (Staatlich geprüfte(r) Musiklehrer(in)), a title that was only possible to achieve before 31 July 1994. To be accredited this title, you have to have completed a degree as a music teacher at a vocational school (not University) before this date.
