The German Academic Exchange Office (know as Der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD)) invites artists from the various fields to come to Berlin on a regular basis through the Berliner Künstlerprogramm (Berlin Art Program). This allows international artists to reside in Berlin for a longer period (usually 1 year, 6 months for film-makers). By encouraging international participation on the Berlin art scene the program aims to facilitate a cultural exchange and encourages creative boundaries to be pushed.
