Village Underground

Village Underground is a major cultural space in East London. Housed in a large Victorian warehouse, the organisation operates a multifunctional centre for performance, exhibitions, and creative events – from live music, theatre and dance, to film screenings, photography shoots and corporate hires. Village Underground is also a multidisciplinary community of individuals, organisations and practices, working from a collection of recycled London Underground train carriages; a dynamic mix of arts, design, fashion, theatre and film, writers, illustrators, VJs, and more.
Village Underground is expanding, new centers are being researched and designed for other European cities to establish an international network of culture houses. Currently this work is focused in Berlin, Lisbon and New York.
