egypt reloaded

An intercultural exhibition project by studio kohlmeier berlin, Mona Shahien und Beshoy Fayez, Tahrir Lounge @Goethe Touched by the events in Egypt, Angelika and Bernd Kohlmeier went to Cairo and started their project ‚egypt reloaded‘, intending to support Egypt’s young revolutionaries on their way to democracy. The project is funded by studio kohlmeier berlin. The portraits on the outer circle represent 50 women and men who took part in the revolution and formulated their intentions for their countrys future on a sheet of paper. The 360° panoramas are snapshots of the event on Tahrir-square. All pictures have been taken using a medium format analogue camera resp. a special camera for panoramas on black and white film. In the inner circle are shown photographic documents taken by the young Egyptian photographer Beshoy Fayez who together with his colleague Mona Shahien from Tahrir Lounge @Goethe gave on-location organizational support to the project.
