Help
Creative City Berlin is the central internet portal for the cultural sector and the creative industries in Berlin. It is both a presentation platform and a contact point – whether you are already based in Berlin or plan to be.
The site was initially set up by the Berlin Senate Chancellery for Cultural Affairs; the project is now also managed in co-operation with the Senate Department for Economy, Technology and Women’s Issues. The project is co-financed by the EFRE Fonds of the European Union. Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH operates the website.
Under the “Questions and Answers” heading on the left-hand side you will find a variety of information on the promotion of culture, financial support, creating a business, copyright law, finding a workshop, taxes and much more. Beneath each heading corresponding to a creative sector in the menu on the left-hand side you will find information on locations.
A complex database enables a comprehensive overview of the vast number of institutions, businesses, individuals and events. It also includes many links to further sources of information, so-called infolinks.
The portal’s was created secondly as a community platform. This means: artists, businesses and employees belonging to the creative industries as well as institutions now have the opportunity to create their own profile, by which they will also be able to be located within the database. Profile holders are able to get in contact with each other. Profiles for institutions or companies can be managed by an individual as long as he/she is authorised to do so by the institution.
All fields will be completed and updated. Thus, the information and content of www.creative-city-berlin.de grows thanks to the user.

Here you will find a variety of information on the promotion of culture, financial support, establishing a business, copyright law, finding a workshop, taxes, a list of contacts and partners’ addresses and much more. This field is divided into four main sectors: “Questions on the promotion of culture”, “Questions on the Economy and Business”, “Question on Individual Creative Sectors” and “General Questions”.
Location information
On the left-hand side you see a menu listing eleven different creative sectors. After selecting a particular sector, you will find a variety of PDF brochures under the heading “Location Information” with specific and general information on creative industries in Berlin and its surroundings.
By selecting other headings you can see the organisation of our database for yourself. For example, if you click on the creative sector ‘Architecture’ and then on ‘work placements and further education’, you will generate a list of all institutions and services offering work placements or further education opportunities either in the field of architecture or specifically for architects.
