Founded in 2013, Kitchen Stories encourages everyday cooking through trusted recipes, intuitive technology, and an engaged community. We reach millions worldwide through our award-winning apps, and website, as well as smart TVs, Amazon Echo, and other platforms. Our international team of 45 is creative, tech-driven, and industrious- we spend our days perfecting the home cooking experience from the heart of Berlin. Most importantly, we love food and celebrate the diversity of a global cooking culture, as well as its people.
Your Role:
- Research, write, and edit German recipes, articles, and other copy for publication
- Develop recipes for our community and partners in collaboration with our chefs
- Conceptualize branded entertainment campaigns in collaboration with our video, photo, and sales teams
- Brainstorm new ideas for storytelling with the rest of the creative team, be it article-, video-, or photo-based content on our various platforms
- Stay on top of the latest food trends and topics to support the growth and improvement of our content daily
- Oversee the publication, translation, and editing cycle of your content packages, including recipes, article, and more
- Maintain the Kitchen Stories voice by adhering to our style guide
- Work in a cross-functional, creative team that collaborates regularly across departments
Your Profile:
- You have a degree in food studies, journalism, communications, literature studies, arts, food studies, or a related field
- You have a deep knowledge and interest in food and cooking and feel comfortable debating and discussing cooking, food trends, ingredients, and techniques with your peers
- You have at least 3 years of experience working on a creative team as an editor or staff writer, or have a career as a freelance writer for similar professional platforms; experience in a food-related industry is a plus
- You are a talented writer and have outstanding verbal communication skills
- You are highly motivated and have a high standard for your work and others
You are comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback on the work at hand
- You are very organized and feel at ease multi-tasking
- You are a native German speaker with strong English skills
