Route unknown. The only thing the artist Jack Wolf knew: …
The Investors Lab 2021 is coming to an end. We take a look back and present this year's companies. In Part 2 we talked to Charlotte Klein from ALETIK, a company that makes Sportswear fair. All pieces are organic or recycled, without exceptions. And now?
Kreativ Kultur Berlin: Hi Charlotte, please introduce yourself briefly. Who are you?
Charlotte:My name is Charlotte Klein and I am the founder of ALETIK. I've been working in the fashion industry for many years and at some point, I decided that I have to start my own brand - ALETIK makes Fair Sportswear: all pieces are organic or recycled, without exceptions. I want to guarantee and ensure that the whole supply chain is not only claiming to be sustainable, but actually is.
Kreativ Kultur Berlin:What do you expect from an investment in your company? And what steps do you want to take afterwards?
Charlotte:So far, ALETIK is a one-woman company, so I need funding to be able to pay for marketing campaigns and also to build a team.
Kreativ Kultur Berlin:What financing strategy are you pursuing or what financing channels have you used so far to build your business?
Charlotte:ALETIK is self-financed, but in order to grow I need external funds.
From the Investors Lab Berlin I learned a lot about pitching and what investors are looking for. In the future I really hope to have a team working for ALETIK
Kreativ Kultur Berlin:What did you learn from this year's Investors Lab Berlin? Where and how do you see your future?
Charlotte: I learned a lot about pitching and what investors are looking for. In the future I really hope to have a team working for ALETIK.
Kreativ Kultur Berlin:Why should investors invest in your company?
Charlotte:The fashion market (especially for e-commerce sportswear) is huge and constantly rising. With the help of an investor, ALETIK has potential to become the go-to brand for fair and sustainable sportswear.
Kreativ Kultur Berlin:Last question: How do you build a business like yours? What obstacles do you have to overcome?
Charlotte:I have a lot of experience in design and textile production. Also thanks to my production company I already had contacts to many producers, so luckily I was pretty safe on the product side. But for me the most difficult part is to generate sales without having any budget for marketing or similar. Also having no team in the beginning to work with can be very challenging.
