Shortly before her planned retirement, Senate Building Director Regula Lüscher, together with Pamela Schobeß (Clubkommission Berlin) and Boris Schade-Bünsow (Bauwelt), selected the winners of the Berlin Award 2021. The award has been presented four times so far, in 2010 for the first time under the name Urban Intervention Award Berlin. Even though the name has changed, the program has remained the same: The award is looking for projects that express Berlin's special urbanity and identity in a contemporary way and that point the way to the future.
