Description

Art up-Exhibition Taumel der Tatsachen

Nina Heimlich (painting and sculpture), Birgit Fechner (painting), Amelia Nin (textile art), Maria Rapela (video installation), Nora Sturm (painting).

They come from different countries, live and work in Berlin and got to know each other half a year ago at the project Art up - Erfolg im Team. Under the title Taumel der Tatsachen Birgit Fechner, Nina Heimlich, Amelia Nin, Maria Rapela and Nora Sturm will exhibit their art at the K-Salon from July 20 to 31, 2021.

Their works have many things in common. In mostly abstract paintings, objects and installations, they deal with a world out of joint, the relationships between the individual and the general public, the search for identity and fixed points of reference in times when it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish reality from unreality. Nature seems to be a place of longing for Birgit Fechner, Nina Heimlich, Amelia Nin and Maria Rapela. Nora Sturm's painting has dystopian features: she shows staggering landscapes and people who seem lost and alienated.

What else the artists have in common is the ambivalence of their works. Dynamism and tranquility, expressivity and fragility, earth and cosmos are not opposites for them, however, but things that balance each other out. Their art, inspired by philosophy, nature and poetry, has a meditative character and invites us to linger, because even in the frenzy of facts they do not lose sight of the meaning and beauty of being.
