These semi-autobiographical miniatures that have appeared in various anthologies over the past two decades aren’t detective stories in the traditional sense. In the end it’s usually up to the reader to become the investigator and piece together a meaning from Murphy’s weird „cases“, which are connected by recurring motifs and pervading allegorical themes into one cryptic meta-narrative.
UNWELT will eventually span six issues in total and tells FuFu’s Ray Murphy-stories in a thematic rather than chronological order. Whereas issue #1 was an introduction into Murphy’s universe and its protagonists, this new issue deals with various aspects of society and contains four short comics created between 2002 and 2019.
