Description
Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology is an international, creative production learning community based at the extraordinary Funkhaus facility. We deliver bachelor and master’s degree programmes in music production, film, visual effects, and screen acting to students from more than 50 countries.

Our courses are based on the values and concepts of progressive education whilst complying with the rigorous requirements of a UK university qualification. We encourage students to push their creative boundaries way beyond what they thought possible at the same time as engaging with their personal growth as a human being.

What are we looking for?

We’re currently looking for a film and theatre technician to join our facilities circle. We’re specifically interested in:

- Applicants with experience in film equipment rentals, inventory management, and strong organizational mindset with an eye for detail.

- Applicants with industry experience in theatre and stage management to support our growing screen acting programme.

Key accountabilities

Lending equipment to students and rooms using our online booking system.
Supporting our screen acting and film teams with stage and lighting management.
Ensuring all returned equipment is complete, or report eventual damage/missing items.
Updating our online booking system with inventory changes.
Troubleshooting daily operational issues.
Supporting the educational team and students.
Assisting with technical queries and setup to ensure that classes run smoothly.
Collaborating with IT to ensure software and other hardware within the film school is operational.
Sharing information and developing ideas to constantly improve our student and team experience.
Supporting wider school events with your technical experience.
Opening and closing the campus in the mornings / evenings.

About you

You are fluent in English, both spoken and written (German is a bonus).
You love the technical side of filmmaking!
The technicalities of a theatre and stage are second nature to you.
DMX (not the artist), tungsten, C-stand, spigot, and grip are all not foreign words.
You’ve got a keen eye for detail.
An open mind and supportive approach are your tools in every interaction.
You are interested in helping to build a growing creative community.
Drivers License (a bonus).
