Description: carlier | gebauer is an established and international gallery in the art district / U-Bahn Kochstrasse in Berlin with a dependance in Madrid.

To strengthen our team in Berlin, we are now looking for a Production Manager (32 to 40hrs/week)

The Production Manager coordinates the fabrication of artworks in close collaboration with external partners, the artists studios as well as with the artist liaisons of the gallery. Accompanying each project throughout all stages of development, the Production Manager will be working on and deliver in a timely manner proposals and solutions to meet all exhibitions and activities’ deadlines linked to the gallery's schedule. The successful candidate has proven experience coordinating production of large-scale and multidisciplinary artworks, as well as in depth experience of working in a team.

Responsibilities

Coordination of production projects in close collaboration and communication with artists and producers
Quality control of ongoing productions.
Processing and controlling of all generated production costs together with the accounting department of the gallery.
Planning of installation and de-installation schedules of internal and external exhibitions of the gallery.
Manage a team of technicians/art handlers during exhibition set-ups and dismantles, and during the day-to-day in the warehouse.
Creating installation manuals / instructions for collectors and institutions.
Ordering transport crates and appropriate packaging for produced works together.
Database maintenance (creating and updating inventory entries).

Skills & Qualifications

Several years of gallery experience - ideally in art production and exhibition planning.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel.
German and English as native language or on native level.
