Description

Our studio is called "ada". This could be the abbreviation for "a dance area". However, ada is the Turkish word for "island", and that seemed to us an adequate name for a place to dance in the midst of Berlin.
ada Studio was founded in November 2006 as a venue for contemporary dance and had its residence for almost five years in Prenzlauer Berg. In April 2011 it found a new home at Uferstudios in Berlin -Wedding. ada is a space for rehearsal, creation, production and presentation focussing on emerging professional choreographers and on artists who are „new arrivals” to Berlin. ada provides support and consultancy to these young professionals at their early state of professional development, career building and development..
Until June 2008 ada Studio was directed by Jenny Haack and Gabi Beier. Since 1 July 2008 Ansgar Tappert as Technical Director and Gabi Beier as Artistic and Managing Director form the ada studio team. Silke Wiethe as director for Press and Public Relations joined the ada team in October 2008.

The ada Studio office is located at Uferstudios, atelier #57.
Since there are no regular working hours it is highly recommended to make an appointment by phone or email.
For the performances at ada Studio we recommend to reserve tickets in advance because of the limited capacity.
