tasks and goals

In accordance with its statutory duties, the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences conducts further scientific training events in addition to its undergraduate courses. Further education is a relevant component in lifelong learning and is part of the permanent educational offer of our application and research-oriented university. It is of particular importance to the labor market and to society. Because continuous participation in up-to-date scientific knowledge is increasingly becoming an essential prerequisite for coping with changes and innovations on the job market, in business, politics and society as well as for individual career and life design. In this sense, advanced training courses at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences offer participants of different occupational and age groups a wide range of opportunities to expand their qualification profile and their skills in a targeted manner. The Central Institution for Continuing Education of the FH Potsdam - the ZEW - is a non-profit, non-profit business under tax law. Its structure is based on the principle of technical decentralization and organizational-logistical centralization: The technical design and responsibility for further training offers lies expressly with the departments and courses and lecturers at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, while ZEW, as the university's service facility, coordinates services centrally and provides them “from a single source” for the development, marketing, implementation and administration of further training projects.
