Description

A 19 -year old, Caucasian, dancer from Miami, FL with a wide training background, ranging from classical to contemporary methods. Holds aspirations to be a choreographer, teacher, performer, and adjudicator. Currently training as at the University of Florida, pursuing a BFA Dance degree and minor in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences.

Jennifer began her training in the arts at Miami Arts Charter , a performing arts high school, at the age of 13, concentrating ballet, pointe, modern, and jazz techniques. Shortly after, she began intensive classical ballet training at Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida under Vladimir Issaev. Throughout her high school career, she has served as President of the Dance Department, held teaching assistant positions, and choreographed awarded works. At the age of 18, she received a full scholarship to pursue Dance at the University of Florida, exposing her to new forms of technical and cultural dance. She currently trains intensively there.

Awards and recognitions include the National Honorable Mention of the 2015 NDEO Artistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic Achievement Award Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship (Full Scholarship to the University of Florida Undergraduate Program) 2nd Place in the Florida 2014NDEO Artistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic Achievement Award, and in 2014 a full Scholarship to the Bates Dance Festival at Bates College.

Repertoire includes works from Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, Complexions, Ailey II, and faculty works from Julliard, University of Florida, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
