Study surveys European creative industries

On balance, increasing digitisation has had a surprisingly positive effect on the European media industry: Since the year 2001, digital growth has led to annual sales growth of two percent in most creative sectors. The book, cinema & TV, gaming and music and press industries throughout Europe now have a total volume of nearly 200 billion euros. This was ascertained by a study commissioned by Google and conducted by the strategic consulting firm Booz & Company GmbH.
