Films that start simultaneously in the cinema and on DVD/VoD (day-and-date film starts) are still a rarity on the European film market. In the US, a recent survey showed that only 5 percent of respondents would "definitely" be willing to pay $50 to watch a new movie at home on the day it was released - at half the price, the share rose to just 13 percent. In Europe, on the other hand, the system of exploitation windows is an established norm in the industry.
