Senate approves special programme for solo self-employed and small businesses

Emergency aid in the Corona crisis: The Senate is launching an emergency aid package with 600 million euros, the Senate decided at a special session on Thursday evening. There will be 100 million euros in emergency aid measures for small businesses and freelancers, in the current year alone. The package is intended for small and micro-enterprises with a maximum of five employees and freelancers as well as solo self-employed persons, "who are suffering particularly hard from the Corona crisis". The amount of the subsidy is limited to 5,000 euros. However, the subsidy can be applied for several times if necessary. In individual cases, it must be proven or credibly demonstrated that a subsidy is necessary to secure the professional or operational existence in the Corona crisis.
