According to a report of Projekt Zukunft Berlin's music industry contains about 1.597 businesses and 15.400 employees. It achieves a yearly profit/revenue of 1.13 billion Euros. Berlin is recognized as a music metropolis in the center of Europe, which fuels the existence of its creative music scene. It stands for electronic sounds, Techno, House and a vibrant club culture, jazz and world music, renowned music colleges and conservatories, as well as Pop and Classical music. Berlin accommodates companies like Universal Music Deutschland, the Deutsche Entertainment AG (DEAG), BMG Rights Management and the piano maker C. Bechstein. In addition to that, Berlin is home to 70 recording studios, 151 music publishing houses such as Sony Classic, the Rolf Budde Musikverlag, Meisel Musikverlage, Bosworth Music, Boosey & Hawkes and Euro Arts Music International, one of the internationally most successful producers and distributors of audiovisual content in the sectors Classical Music, Jazz and World Music. Leading labels, among others, are Tim Renners Motor Music, Piranha, !K7 Records, Jack White, Embassy of Music, Get Physical and Traumton. World-renowned orchestras, such as the Berlin Philharmonic under Kirill Petrenko or the Berliner Staatskapelle under Daniel Barenboim, additionally influence Berlin as a music hotspot.
Creative City Berlin is associated with numerous institutions, initiatives and networks and cooperates with the Berlin Club Commission, Berlin Music Commission, Pop-Kultur, noisy academy, Music Pool Berlin, and the Berlin Mitte Institute.
