The expansion of spaces for artistic productions in Berlin has progressed in recent years. Nevertheless, the need for affordable work and rehearsal spaces remains high and is limited by the Berlin Senate's cutbacks. A survey will provide data on the basic issues of space requirements in the performing arts, dance, music, literature and project spaces. With the figures collected, the space requirements of the independent performing arts community can be clearly explained and necessary measures can be communicated in a well-founded manner. The results will be published in fall 2025 and made publicly available.
