Description

“Casual Connections” is an exhibition by Rocio E Bucheli, a Colombian artist living in Cardiff, Wales. In my residence at Kunstraum La Girafe in Kreuzberg, Berlin, I will explore what it is to become a migrant. Dislocation and discrepancies are compounded by different languages, and unfamiliarity with environmental factors like climate, topography, light, flora and fauna. Our native individuality is formed in response to such factors.

I will use creativity to explore the concept of belonging. Words, lines, colour all facilitate interactions and expression of hidden feelings, which can also invite future generations of migrants to interpret and integrate connections.
