Description
Art Project: AI and People Over 60
The artistic project New Valley Table offers a multi-layered reflection on aging in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), providing insight into marginalized perspectives and experiences with algorithmic systems. AI is transforming the way we live and work. Algorithms play an increasingly significant role in decision-making processes—both in everyday life and in sensitive areas such as healthcare, hiring, credit scoring, and ensuring security and accessibility. What opportunities does AI offer for older individuals? What risks exist that could lead to further exclusion or discrimination against already marginalized groups?
New Valley Table is part of the research project Algorithmic Fairness in Ageing Societies: (Re-)Imagining a Better Future (anyage.ai) at the Berlin Social Science Center, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation.
The video installation will be presented as part of the MindAIness Event 2025—a performative practice of mindful engagement with artificial intelligence in our society.
The interviews for this project were conducted with the support of the German Senior Computer Club e.V., F1 – the district center at Mehringplatz, BCMA Gallery, and the self-organized women’s group 60+ from MigrArte Perú.
