Filmmakers transform a historically protected warehouse in Prenzlauer Berg into Instagram World, Berlin

Berlin’s first interactive pop-up selfie museum - On 15th February 2020, the WOW! Gallery Berlin opens its doors for exactly 180 days to photo lovers on the hunt for picture-worthy scenes.

Within two floors of a former shopping center, 25 concept rooms feature analog and digital installations, complete with a fitting and styling area. Various objects and projections allow the viewer to touch, jump in, style, swing, climb, dance, and hop. At the WOW!, the viewer becomes the model, and friends become the crew.

The pop-up gallery was conceived by experienced Berlin filmmakers Torsten Künstler, Bernhard Jasper, Christian Pralle, and Saskia van de Calseijde, who worked on blockbusters like „Keinohrhasen“, „Schlussmacher“, „Mein Blind Date mit dem Leben“ „Männerherzen“ or „Babylon Berlin“ among others. The urge to form creative worlds gave the crew the idea for an interactive, contemporary museum with a focus on experience. In a short time, they built installations, dreamworlds, and social media playgrounds full of illusion to achieve a leap over the limits of reality. Because of their years of film experience, the crew brings a filmmaker’s eye to the WOW!, so that that the rooms can be awoken with any smartphone or camera of choice.
