Position: Freelance communication and PR for feminist project

Description: Heroines is an international feminist network dedicated to exploring the paradox surrounding intimacy, rooted in sexism and oppression. Through collective laboratories, exhibitions, podcasts and research, we strive to weave transdisciplinary bonds between women who are isolated in their personal lives and thoughts, to federate the multitudes of like-minded activists, and to give a voice to silenced groups.

In January, we are launching a podcast series where 3 Berlin-based composers explore different taboos and issues related to intimacy and isolation. We are also preparing for a project that will take place in Uzbekistan in the Fall 2022, if everything goes well, and we need someone who can help strengthen our reach and our public image.

Responsibilities:
- promote these podcasts on various platforms like Apple Music, Spotify + related channels on Soundcloud and more specific networks
- increase our visibility for example getting reviews, interviews and announcements on art magazines
- increase our community base (social media)

Required skills:
- knowledge of the publishing scene for contemporary art and podcasting
- ability to understand our message and write copy for posts
- excellent command of English
- some graphic design skills would be a +

This is a freelance position, running from mid-January until the end of February, and is paid a flat rate for 1-2 afternoons per week. This is a non-profit project.

In the future, there will be other opportunities, based on funding and projects. For instance, we are planning a third residency and exhibition in 2022-23, possibly in Uzbekistan, after a first edition in Georgia in 2019 and a second one in Thailand in 2021. So, we hope to find a candidate who would be a long term collaborator!
