Job Title: Project manager, part-time and freelance with German tax number
Location: Berlin
Project duration: September 2022 - January 2023, work load approx. 5 weeks in total distributed over the whole period

About
Membranes out of order. Three perspectives on bioart will be a group show by Margherita Pevere, Theresa Schubert and Karolina Żyniewicz, supported by the Hauptstadtkulturfonds. The project aims to present the artistic research and practice of the three bioartists in an innovative way, with a special focus on accessibility. The show will take place at Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin, being the first exhibition of this kind in the city.
The exhibition will take place in December 2022 and January 2023. Its production will begin in September 2022. Most work will be done during autumn. Reporting will follow. The final schedule will be discussed individually.
After the show in Berlin, there are plans to tour the exhibition internationally.

Job description
We are looking for a highly motivated project manager with experience in exhibition or festival production, preferably with new media works, research-based practices and performance art. The main task to do will be working with the curatorial / artist team (Margherita Pevere, Theresa Schubert and Karolina Żyniewicz) to support the project’s implementation.

Responsibilities
-Production & Budget
-Communication with Hauptstadtkulturfonds and other partners
-Budget management
-Reporting to HKF
-Organising logistics and transport (mostly within Berlin). No travels & accomodation (artists are Berlin-based)
-In collaboration with the curatorial team, coordinate set-up and take down; the catalogue’s design and print; the accessibility aspects of the show; program of talks and guided tours
-Coordination of staff (contracts, set up staff meetings, timetable) and external experts (scientific partners)

Requirements
-Experience with the funding scheme of the Berlin Senat (Hauptstadtkulturfonds)
-Master's degree in culture management, arts or related field, or equivalent experience
-5+ years of work experience in the field
-A demonstrated solid track of art administration, planning, and team management
-Dedication in working with artists, and independent projects
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
-planning and organising skills
- Reliable time management skills and solution-oriented approach


Person Specification
-Berlin based
-Fluent command of German (native speaker of C2)
-Team player, highly collaborative in approach
-Preferably interest in experimental art and ecological awareness
