Description
Full time role for a diligent, meticulously organised day-to-day management assistant. The ideal candidate is highly driven, self-reliant, possesses a strong work ethic and can effortlessly navigate through a highly complex work-stream, whilst maintaining a painstaking attention to detail. In-depth understanding of the music industry and nuanced knowledge of the alternative music scene is vital. This role offers remote work flexibility and exciting travel prospects spanning the globe.

ABOUT STARLING WORKS

Starling Works is a creative development agency operating in the field of artist management, event curation / production, education and creative services.

Our work spans genres and disciplines and has reached wildly contrasting spaces of expression. From immersive multidisciplinary performances combining music, visual art, technology and choreography at The Barbican, through peak-time techno jams on the dancefloor of Berghain.

Currently we represent an award winning roster of artists in the space of alternative electronic music including Sebastian Mullaert, Laurence Guy and Wayne Snow. We have previously driven Grammy Awards nominated release campaigns and collaborations with iconic artists like Paul McCartney, Thom Yorke and the Zurich Philharmonic Orchestra.

Besides artist management we also oversee the curation, production and brand management of improvised live touring concept Circle Of Live and it’s offshoot music academy In Bloom, delivering online courses, masterclass events and creative retreats worldwide.

THE ROLE:

You will be supporting the managing director across all the divisions and activities of the company including:

-Artist management division providing assistance in every facet of career development.
-Live events division with advancing, production and marketing.
-Educational division with day to day operations, marketing, planning and customer care.

YOU WILL:

-Interface directly with our artists and handle requests promptly and efficiently.
-Assist in the strategic planning across all aspects of client’s careers, understanding their goals, developing strategies and working proactively to achieve them.
-Plan and implement client campaigns, including global music releases, brand partnerships, international touring, special projects etc.
-Provide general admin support, including invoicing and payments, budgeting, song registrations, visas, funding applications etc.
-Represent clients in professional situations, ensuring needs are met and partnerships maintained, including travelling to live shows, sessions, public appearances etc.
-Oversee and optimise clients’ online presence and social media strategy, content creation and execution, maintaining overview of fan interaction.


ABOUT YOU:

-A minimum of 3 years’ experience in artist management, or a similar artist-facing position in the music industry, with experience in managing record releases and live tours.
-Solution-oriented, creative thinker, who can draw from their experience and think quickly on their feet in any situation.
-Comprehensive understanding of the music industry, including record release campaign management live touring, commercial partnerships, marketing, copyrights etc.
-Work clearly and efficiently to a brief, set budgets, deadlines and work as strongly on assigned solo tasks as they do within the context of a team.
-Culturally aware and creatively engaged, with an ability to conceive and develop ideas true to the artist aesthetic.
-Excellent writing skills and an eye for good design and photography.
-Attuned radar for relevant technological developments and strong digital skillset, with an up-to-date understanding of social media, DSPs, data analytics and other relevant technologies.
-Experience and an ability to communicate supportively and harmoniously with artists is central to the role, likewise maintaining confidentiality and a delicate manner in handling personal and sensitive matters.
-Possess a proactive and inquisitive attitude; demonstrating enthusiasm and passion to keep learning, growing and progressing.
-Excellent organisational and communication skills in English. Any other language is a plus.
-Experience with video and photo editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Premiere / DaVinci Resolve is a plus


Salary: Depending on Experience

Start Date: May 13th 2024

Location: Preferably Berlin

Working Hours: 40h per week, during regular CET business hours and occasional weekend work during key event productions including travel around the globe.
