Description

Christiane Wagner is a designer, university professor and researcher. Her teaching and research activities focus on media, aesthetics, art, design and architecture in theory and practice. She is currently conducting research at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of São Paulo (IEA USP) for the USP Global Cities Program: Smart City’s Empirical Research in São Paulo and Berlin, and as an affiliated researcher at the Institute for Cultural Inquiry Berlin on Environmental Sustainability: Public Spaces and Collaborative Actors in a Digital Ecosystem. This research evaluates the digital environment as part of a complex visual culture that implies current aesthetic, ethical, social, and political values related to sustainable public spaces. Among the author's major publications are the book Visualizations of Urban Space: Digital Age, Aesthetics, and Politics, Advances in Urban Sustainability (London and New York: Routledge, 2022) and the co-edition of Kunst, Design und die »Technisierte Ästhetik« (Reihe Welt Gestalten, Bd. 6.
