DARREN BLACK is a Berlin-based fashion & advertising photographer who's work hits 4 key notes, sex, subversion, transgression, queer .

An early adopter of trends and the zeitgeist, his approach is that of an artist rather than fashion photographer. A lecturer at London College of Fashion and Istituto Marangoni, Darren teaches as a practitioner & has nurtured some great new creatives in the fashion industry.

Darren's last solo exhibition: create/destroy/create - an experiment in collage, saw him rifle through his archive using both rudimentary and brand-spanking new technology to deconstruct his own archive of work and create bastard portraits that are drenched in sex and elicit more than a touch of the violence of his method. The resulting work was an arresting (and at time shocking) comment on the nature of photography and the airbrushed, retouched world we live in.

At a recent mixed show saw him reimagine the work of William Bouguereau creating powerful imagery that sold out straight away.
