This comic removes the myths about machine learning.
Many talk about it, even more have no idea what it means: artificial intelligence has become a buzzword. People need to know as much as possible about a technology that will determine their insurance, finances, cancer diagnoses and educational opportunities in the future. Julia Schneider and Lena Ziyal therefore do educational work: with intelligent explanations, loving illustrations and cats, the two Berlin women explain AI in black and white pictures and short texts. Why has AI been developed so far mainly by men - and what could that mean? How do we get clear responsibilities, more responsibility and more transparency in the AI business? Where are there systems that not only pursue an economic goal, but really want to help us lead a better life? "We need new points of view and new perspectives in the debate," say the authors. Julia Schneider, who holds a doctorate in economics, appreciates data and code as tools for solving complex puzzles - and loves comics as a medium for telling complex stories. The artist Lena Kadriye Ziyal comes from the opposite direction. She likes to encode complexity with associations, thus adding her own perspective to the meaning of a subject. The 56-page comic wants to be a contribution to give more people an insight into the world of AI.
