CHORO CORPORA

CHORO CORPORA connects to the evolutionary history of the human body, and is a meditation on the spine, its amazing range of movement and the history that it holds. Through wave-like, cyclical, continuous, and ever-evolving sequences and phrasing, the piece reveals kinetic meaning and the memory of blood, bone and cell. One audience member wrote,"The performance carries the serenity of watching life sway on the sea bottom and transforms through several stages in organic movements. I felt I was watching evolution." Another wrote, "a mesmerizing array of undulating movement that slowly grows and evolves over the course of the piece into an indescribable narrative of movement and spatial relationship with the body, with other bodies and with space. CC was created during two residencies at K77 Studio in Berlin in 2011. The music/ sound design, by Julia Kny, was further developed in 2012.
