Description

Lucien Danzeisen is a composer, improviser, interpreter and artist. They were born in Switzerland in 1989 and are currently living in Berlin.

Lucien took part in ‘The Young Composers Project’ (Künstlerhaus Boswil) and completed their bachelor’s degree in composition (Josef Kost, Michel Roth, Bettina Skrzypczak) and piano (Yvonne Lang, Marc Hunziker) with a minor in harpsichord (Bettina Seeliger) at the Hochschule für Musik Luzern in the Department of Classical Music. They completed their master’s degree in composition at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Hanspeter Kyburz „cum laude“ in December 2018. They are currently teaching at the UdK Berlin as part of FEM_*MUSIC*_, composing, teaching piano in a music school and involved in free projects. Lucien has given concerts themselves and/or was played in Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Poland, France, and the Czech Republic. In 2015, National Swiss Radio SRF2 Kultur broadcasted a portrait by Lucien Danzeisen (under their former name, Lea Danzeisen), produced by Thomas Meyer, including an interview.

Lucien Danzeisen’s compositions range from solo pieces over diverse constellation of Ensembles to orchestral works, featuring purely acoustical works as well as electroacustical and electronical works. Lucien is continuosly composing since 2007. They were happy to collaborate with different Ensembles and interpreters.
