Description

Born in Havana, Cuba, Ana Kavalis is a performer, dancer, actress, and educator based in Berlin since 2004. Her work is developed on the terrain of physical theater, dance, and performance. In Cuba she studied modern dance with teachers such as Tangin Fong, Manolo Guerra and Narciso Medina. In 1996 she emigrated to Montevideo, Uruguay, where she then studies drama at the E.M.A.D. graduating in 2000. In 2001 she forms part of the CPT (Theatrical Research Center) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, studying the actor's method developed by its director Antunes Filho. Since 2006 she has been developing her own work. Her solo performances include: Eurydike – eine Anatomie des Schattens (206/2007), Penthesilea (2009), Lilith im Spiegel (2010/2011), Das Meer hinter der Mauer (2012), Qui se cache dans ce corps? (2016/2017).
Since 2007 she has worked as educator teaching body training for professionals as well as creative dance and improvisation theater for children.
