Painted City: Berlin
This project is a visual etnography about how street art introduces a new sight of a city. Berlin has been a broken city for decades with its famous wall as frontier. The paintings in the wall were the first street art show in Berlin, but after that, the street art started to conquer the city.
This project has been developed either at the west and the east sides of the wall. Grafittis and stencils, and also the thousand of posters, are like a superglue of the city design. Cultural acts that homogenize the two parts of the cities.
It has been very expensive to invest in the reform of the east part , as it has been the poorest part during the Cold War. But seems to be less expensive the use of cultural acts to get people in relation as it is shown.
