Aurelia Paumelle made her first steps in Paris where she trained at the renown Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, as a model maker. After working on womenswear for six years, she decided to take a new challenge by leaving Paris for her adoptive city Berlin in order to start an eponym menswear. And here, her creativity and taste for classic cuts blended with street wear and subtle mix of textures. In her second collection, she offers within a single tone range, a series of surprising/playful and elegant soft shades clothing. Men are given options and opportunities to reveal their own identity and to adapt their look to changing circumstances.
Inspired by Parisian chic as well as by Berlin-made edginess, her designs are a subtle fusion of both a casual and sophisticated look As the designer who finds her inspirations in the city and its people, she has been an active participant in the city’s fashion world as well as the arts such as music and visual arts by taking part in a collective exhibition with other artists working in Paul-Lincke-Ufer 39/40 (Refugium) or by bringing them into her fashion worldview as seen in her Winter 2011 Fashion show L’Ardeur –which was put together by the designer and her close friends. We are thrilled to present her future projects and share her Berlin-developed vision in this showcase for a bigger audience within and beyond Berlin streets.
