Description

Established during the Berlin International Film Festival in 2012, the Berlin Film Society organises monthly cinematic experiences, as well as international pop-up film events. Each month a specific theme, motif, director, or idea is explored within the films that are screened. From Director Q&As and retrospectives, to themed culinary experiences and live music events, the Society aims to create a whole new approach to experiencing film.

OUR AUDIENCE

Our events provide a unique opportunity for Berlin’s diverse and multifaceted inhabitants and visitors to experience a film event that enables them to step beyond their social demographic and meet others from a multitude of different backgrounds, nationalities, industries, and professions. From Neukölln students to Embassy Ambassadors, emerging artists to established entrepreneurs, the Berlin Film Society connects these often segregated groups into a big melting pot of film-loving.

NOMADIC APPROACH

As a nomadic film society, we are able to choose venues that best suit the films in our programme. From the unique and obscure to the well-known and much loved, the Berlin Film Society is known for its astute and exciting cinematic venues. In addition to continuing our exploration of Berlin’s seemingly endless event spaces and venues, in 2013 the Society will venture further afield into other territories across the world, with a focus on London, Vienna, Toronto, and New York.
