Who is doing that ? (work in progress)
GPS tracking System, Max/Msp/Jitter, Laptop Mac, Multimedia projector, Sound system
This project Is an audiovisual concert generated in "real time" by the author's movements connected with a GPS.
”Who is doing that?” is mounted like a standard audiovisual concert, and it start when the author starts to move from one point of the city (ex. his house) to the concert hall at the same time that scheduled the beginning of the concert. Between two places has to be more about 45 minutes.
The information that sends the GPS interacts virtually with the software Max / Msp / Jitter and database (audio, photos and videos). The software interprets the information that sends the GPS and associates the moves with some visuals and sounds processes, varying its internal parameters. Thus, the author and his GPS interact with the piece from the exterior. And the audiovisual concert finish, when the author arrives to the concert hall.
Sound Canvas
White canvas, speakers, cables, audio system and recording.
“Sound Canvas” is a sound-visual installation that uses a white canvas and a speaker that reproduces the voice of a person explaining a real painting. The canvas has a circular perforation in the centre where is added a little loudspeaker connected to an audio system.
The speaker reproduces a person’s voice explaining a painting. The voice only gives a formal description of the table and the technique that was used, avoiding give information about the author and the name of the painting.
The name of each piece is given by the description duration recording (e.g. Two minutes, forty-eight seconds). And the canvas’s size coincides with the ones of the painting that describe.
