Description

My name is Erik Årman Assargård and I'm currently living in Malmö, Sweden. This autumn I'm moving to Berlin permanently after a quite long time of monthly commuting.

I've been working with music and it's business in different forms for about 13 years, and full time since I finished school in 2006, under the name Per Hammar. I started with music production and then I added DJ'ing. Meanwhile, I builded a studio from scratch, Valvet Studio's in Malmö, together with a friend. The studio has been up and running for 7 years now. The studio matched our work methods, which means it's mainly hardware focused. Since 2008 I've been releasing music on different labels, but in 2014 I got tired of the feeling of not having the control over my own works and did the decision to start my own label, Dirty Hands. It’s a small boutique vinyl label, focusing on dubby and dusty house.

Last year I started my other label, 10YEARS, focusing on more electronic sounding minimal and rolling pieces of music. Here's the craftsmanship of the vinyl manufaction even more in focus, where I stamp the records myself and so on.

I'm currently also a DJ teacher on Kulturskolan in Vellinge outside of Malmö. On three lessons/week I teach the new generation of music interested/future artists how to DJ and act like one. The education includes the whole spectrum like technically master the equipment, how to build a set, how to think when selecting, how to act on stage, how to promote yourself, social media etc. In other words, the whole package.

When I'm not in the studio or acting teacher, I'm running my own club called Kiloton. Since 2011 until June 2017, on monthly basis, and in the future more occasionally, because of my move to Berlin. Besides that, I'm usually touring as a DJ on the weekends.
