Description

Established in 1985 the Fund for Performing Arts supports excellent projects in all fields of the performing arts that stand out due to notable quality, that are of national importance and that contribute to the development of the performing arts.

14 member associations, societies and organisations ensure a broad basis for the protection of the performing arts' interests.
In the 22 years of it's existence the fund awarded 10,6 million euro for 2.294 projects. The Fund for Performing Arts received benefits from the government through the German Federal Cultural Foundation and the Cultural Foundation of the Federal States.

From 2005 on the German Federal Cultural Foundation is the solitary sponsor of the fund providing 1.000.000 euro yearly. The fund's board of trustees decides on the awarding of subsidies twice a year.
