Permanent installation in the basement stairwell @ Eliconia collective house, Allston, MA USA.
" When everything in a space is made to look the same (in this case, by using stripes) one is forced to figure out the spacial relationships between objects to walls and also to themselves. Seeing is no longer a passive occurrence; all one's attention is focused on orienting oneself, such as putting one's foot in the right placement or tripping on the stairs that seem to blend into a uniform surface. It is a call to the reality of living in three dimensions; to pay attention or to lose oneself in a flat pattern."
