Transformer Station

Pilot Project at George Grosz-Platz, Berlin Charlottenburg
A non-orthogonal structure abstractly pretends an excitation winding of the transformer and reminds of shadows of trees and perches. The selected colours are naturally given by the surrounding: the dark-brown coffer of aluminium forms a viewable contrast with the reflective stainless steel. By mirroring parts of the surrounding, the transformer naturally fits in the cityscape.
