Description

The Kommunale Galerie Berlin is Berlin’s largest municipal gallery dedicated to exhibit contemporary art. In temporary exhibitions – lasting between four and six weeks – it provides an innovative platform for artists from Berlin and abroad.

The gallery reopened in 2009 after a complete refurbishment, now disposing of more than 500 square meters of exhibition space on two floors. The bright and spacious rooms provide an exceptional showcase for photography, painting, installations, and performances. The Kommunale Galerie Berlin also cooperates with artists and institutions from abroad to provide an international forum for innovative art projects. A varied programme of workshops with artists and museum educators in the gallery’s Atelier accompanies the exhibitions.
