Lisa Gordon has both a museological and an artistic background and uses an interdisciplinary, creative approach to her projects. In particular, it is objects from private collections that she revives through examination and interpretation. Her curatorial style is characterized by a close reading into the social lives of objects, liberating their hidden histories and illuminating their resonances with contemporary narratives. She often introduces art intervention into the thematic structuring of her shows. Working with galleries, project spaces and academic institutions, the resulting exhibitions can be seen as a ‘pop-up’ museum. Lisa is involved in the field of urban heritage, having participated in several international conferences and symposia. She has published various scientific papers and reviews, particularly concerning the city of Berlin.
