Ten Oceans Far From My Soul

The project consists of a series of 10 photographs in three different environments: home, city and nature. The series explores the complex emotions of feeling numb, lost and vulnerable in a world that can be overwhelming and disorientating. Each photograph features a nude subject, intentionally devoid of any identifying features, to represent the feeling of a lost identity. The face is obscured, further emphasising the sense of disconnection and anonymity. By removing these defining features, I intend to convey the universality of these feelings and invite viewers to connect with (the emotions evoked in) the images. The use of nudity in the series is also intended to represent vulnerability, a common theme among those who feel disconnected or lost in their own lives. Ultimately, through a visual exploration of these complex emotions, I intend to create a space of dialogue and self-reflection, encouraging the viewer to embrace their own vulnerability and to connect with a deeper sense of self-awareness.
