MAX VAN DER ROSE works internationally as a composer, musician, electronic artist,
musical director and producer in the studio as well as on stages for culture, media,
film, TV and business.



Since 1990 he has been writing and producing music, sounds and sound design for TV,
cinema and theater like Dorado One Way by Reinhard Münster, Highscore, New York June,
On Your Own, Daniela, The Animal, I’m Innocent, Andy by Ralph Bohn,
Solinger Rudi, The Peanut Man by Dietmar Klein, series Lindenstraße, California Clan,
Dieter Moor Special by Anna Husen, Jana by Jakob Lass, Don’t Need No by Ann-Christin Keune,
The Paragon Cortex by John Kilker, Carl – A Diary Entry of 1932 by Timo Borkowski,
Integrantius, Cosi fan tutte, Butterfly, Amadeus Superstar by Nina Kupczyk
and for countless others brand and event staging in over 60 countries.

A first highlight of his project was the publication of HARD WORK in 1992
P.O.P. – Point Of Position, in a collaboration with Mark Knopfler,
conceived as a musical answer to the story of ‚Money for Nothing‘ by Dire Straits.

Another early highlight was the conception and staging of DANCE OF ELEMENTS in 1995
as an art project and open air festival for Berlin / Federal Garden Show.
In 18 day-long performances with more than 60 musicians, he created living sound images
the 4 elements – fire, water, earth, air – arise.
This is where his first sound installation of the same name was created in public space – in the then new RSP 360° Circle Surround Process – as a walk-in outdoor project with a diameter of 99 meters,
the largest sound art installation in the world at the time.
Since then he has regularly worked with multimedia concepts and techniques as well as the visualization of sound with his Sound Generated Digital Artwork© as well as three-dimensional sound.

As a sound and performance pioneer, he founded DC | DRUM CONNECTION at the same time, an international drum ensemble that still performs today as a unique live act with innovative concepts
in the electronic music scene, in clubs, love parades and festivals worldwide,
but also at the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall ceremony in front of the Brandenburg Gate
or on a UK tour with electro pop act Cascada.
In 2010 he developed special luminous suits for DC together with the Chemnitz Textile Research Institute and invented luminescent drumsticks using the luminescence process.

He has also been involved in cultural policy for years, often on a voluntary basis, for example at the CARNIVAL OF CULTURES in Berlin.
Together with the WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN he curated, produced and published all of the carnival’s compilation CDs on one of his labels.

In 2008 he founded the artist network CROSSING THE BRIDGE Berlin - Istanbul
and realized the first Turkish truck TURKISH DELIGHTS at a love parade,
with Birol Giray, Ferhat Albayrak, Alican & Soner, Burhan Kilicak & asian artist Nakadia as special guest.

He founded various labels such as CUES RECORDING, GLOBAL SOUNDS, SOUNDS OF BERLIN,
TANZKOLLEKTIV, TURKISH DELIGHTS, DRUM CONNECTION MUSIC as publishing platforms for your own productions.

Since 2020 he has been running SOUNDS OF BERLIN and the web radio SOUNDSOFBERLIN.FM
the first platform ever – exclusively – for productions by Berlin artists, acts, ensembles, labels of all genres from contemporary to electronic.

He is a co-founder of TRANSFORM23 with its own production and workshops, photo and film studio, sound laboratory, recording studio etc.

Awards:
2003 – For his artistic and cultural commitment “… as an artist with a sense of mission”
he was appointed Knight of Culture in Hungary.
2004 – MBA Award / 2007 Conga Award / Conga Award 2008 / Conga Award 2009 /
with Rhythm, Drum & Dance – The Show
2013 – Distinctive Achievement Award / Wild Rose Film Festival / USA for the movie 'Paragon Cortex'
