Description

Nina Cavalcanti is a visual artist and filmmaker from Brazil who has lived in Berlin since 2014. Since 2005, she has documented artists such as Arnaldo Antunes, Nação Zumbi, Emicida and Gilberto Gil. In 2017, she made her first short film, “You are no Stranger to my Heart” (8″). In 2021 he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg. In 2022 his experimental short film “She’s Ready” is shown in the Verbo – Festival of performances programme, a partnership between Galeria Vermelho (Sao Paulo) and ChãoSNZ (MA), and in the LUFF programme (in Lausanne, Switzerland).
Since October 2022, she is doing a master’s degree in the program “Spatial Strategies” at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule in Berlin. She continues to develop her research into body language, exploring the boundaries between performance and reality in films, installations and more.
