People want to tell stories, they want to hear stories and they want to share stories. We have been doing this for a couple thousand of years already through different kinds of media. I have the ambition to create, change and shape those stories in such a manner people want to hear and share them.
My name is Thomas Neelemans, a 26 year old digital artist. I work as a Freelancer specialized in film, documentary and Virtual Reality.
I studied Communication & Multimedia Design at the Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda, the Netherlands. And had the honor to broaden my knowledge in Interactive Strategy and dedicated half a year developing competence and skill in creating campaigns, with conceptual thinking as a major element. At the BFK University of Applied Science in Budapest, Hungary, I attended Film & Media studies and gained a better understanding of story-telling and how to visually enrapture my audience.
I graduated managing a Virtual Reality project at Beeldhouwers, a company specialized in Film and 360degree projects, where I discovered the world of Virtual Reality. I gained experience in immersive storytelling, analytical thinking and creating cross-media campaigns. My graduation project was a Virtual Reality installation about a 15 year old Syrian refugee. The installation was very well received in the Netherlands and nominated for numerous prizes, including the 'Bright VR Talent' award and the 'Young Master' award at Media Art Festival. Moreover, I participated as Concept Creator and Designer in an amazing project for Time Magazine, creating the first interactive website for the 100 most influential people of 2014.
I see myself as a multimedia concept creator. I master different kinds of adobe programs. And an advanced user of several programs to film and create virtual reality worlds and show my ability to tell an immersive story. Next to practical and technical skills, I have strong communication and social skills. A flexible person who easily adapts to new environments, a dedicated team player who is also very well capable of working independently. I am a creative and curious futurist who wants to keep learning. The continuing developments in media and technology are followed by me step by step with fascination and interest.
