Description

UNMEASUREMENT are site specific performances by the collective POMC productions, featuring a collaboration between the three artists performers Claire Terrien (choreographer/architect), Lena Gätjens (scenographer/light designer) and Caroline Tallone (musician/violin maker).

Three working tools – folding ruler, chalk line, laser - were the starting point of choreographic, spatial, and acoustical investigations that question concepts of measurement. Following the logic of measuring, marking and constructing, the research express the underlying difficulties of an unmeasurable world and the beauty of the indeterminable.

To quantify and calibrate spaces and bodies, inter relations, comparisons and dependencies are generated. In this ongoing struggle to create a system in the midst of a reality impossible to grasp, we confront to the properties of materials, the basic forces of physics, our willingness to take risks, the normativity of our bodies.
