Beschreibung
The Palace Collective (https://www.thepalacecollective.org/) is running its annual European Residency for creatives in Poland (July 10-19) and is seeking a RESIDENT LIASON to join the team. This position is ideal if you are interested in what The Palace does and would like to work on the organisational side of the residency. Do you have an awareness of how events are run, from set up to take down? Do you have an interest in creating open dialogues and safe spaces? This is a supporting role and you will be working in a collaborative team. It involves working closely with the Resident Coordinator and the Space and Materials Coordinator, and predominantly involves working on-site during the residency. This role is really ideal for someone who would be interested in coming to The Palace and would like to be involved behind the scenes.

What we are looking for
* You have experience in organising festivals/residencies/events.
* You speak German and/or Polish
* You have an approachable disposition and are happy to help where necessary.
* You take initiative and would be interested in creating your own work or project at The Palace.
* If you have a drivers license and like driving this is a big plus.

The role involves:
Pre-Residency
* Liaising with artists/contributors on their needs and concepts for the residency.
* Sourcing materials for contributors pre-residency with the Space and Materials Coordinator.
* Meeting with the Resident Coordinator to help shape the programme of workshops and talks.
* Supporting the Media Coordinator in the run-up to the residency with social media and content.

During the residency
* Helping the Space and Materials Coordinator onsite with material needs
* Being available at the information point to help with residents queries during the residency
* Being capable of making changes to the programme during the residency

This is the minimum that we are looking for. If you want to take it further and be more involved with the creative side of the residency, especially in terms of how the site will look or how residents’ experience will be shaped, this is absolutely open. We need help with what we have listed, but there is plenty of room to develop your role and take on different things if you would like.

Before the residency, you would need to be available for a site visit in April. From mid-April, you would need to be available for a few hours a week to meet and be updated on the programming and organisation of the residency, as well as sourcing materials. Working hours are flexible. You must be available for the whole time of the residency. Set up is from the 7th-10th of July and the residency runs until the 19th. The role is a volunteer role but you will have transportation to and from the residency, along with your food and accommodation for the time there. The site visit is also covered. Once you are at the residency you will have shifts and we will make sure you have time off to participate in the residency. Once the main week is finished you will be able to enjoy the weekend.

Please submit your application here and answer the following questions.

1. What draws you to The Palace?
2. What draws you to this role?
3. Would you be interested in getting more creative with the role? i.e. site planning, designing spaces, designing residents’ experiences, creative on-boarding,

What is The Palace?
The Palace is an international platform for emerging artists, focused on creative education, event production and self-organised networks within the arts. The residency is running for the 4th year but at a completely new site. With that comes a big step up in responsibility but also the ability to be creative. The site itself boasts 187 rooms and 4 stages with a mix of dungeons and regal painted rooms. Typically the residency welcomes 200 residents. The residency itself is geared towards creative development and inter-disciplinary communication. Our ethos is „contribute, collaborate, play“ and we believe that fostering a creative, inclusive and supportive environment is the key to unlocking creative potential. During the residency, there is a programme of workshops, talks and projects that residents host and attend. Everyone is invited to contribute to the programme but this is not a must. Workshops range from 'how to use power tools‘ to 'physicalising text‘ to ‚emotional identity and the creative process‘ to 'sound sampling in the recording studio‘ and often (but not always) involve a current practice from a resident and teaching that process or idea. The residency is thus shaped entirely by who attends. The creative spaces at The Palace involve a cinema, recording studio, garden, craft attic, kitchen, and more. We are open to creating new spaces this year. Aside from the programme, we have materials on hand and residents can spend their time as they want. Aside from dinner, where everyone comes together, you are left to your own devices.
